Hi, I’m Cindy…

owner and creator of Maggie Valley Yarn Shop and Blueberry Lane Hand Dyed Yarn. Owning my own business has been a dream of mine since graduating from college, right here in WNC (Western Carolina University), with a degree in Business. While my career took me into the corporate world, that entrepreneurial spirit never faded. Throughout the years, I continued to dream of building something of my own - something that combined creativity, passion and purpose. So after 20 years in Human Resources, it was time to follow a different path - one that allowed me to express my creativity and share my love of color, fiber and handmade artistry.

What began as a love of yarn and fiber arts eventually grew into opening a quaint little yarn shop in the heart of WNC, Maggie Valley Yarn Shop. After 3 successful years, I was inspired to take the next step in my fiber journey by creating Blueberry Lane Hand Dyed Yarn. What began by building a welcoming community for knitters and crocheters naturally grew into a passion for creating the yarn itself, Blueberry Lane Hand Dyed Yarn. Today, I hand dye each skein in small batches from my mountain home, drawing inspiration from the natural beauty around me: the Blue Ridge Mountains, Great Smoky National Park, the trout in the mountain streams and the mountain sunsets on the parkway. Every colorway is thoughtfully created to bring joy, spark creativity and help makers create projects they'll treasure for years to come.

While creating beautiful yarn is incredibly rewarding, the greatest gift of this journey has been the community that has formed around my shop. Connecting with fellow makers, sharing in their projects, celebrating their creativity and building friendships through a shared love of fiber arts has giving me a sense of purpose I never expected. What started as a business dream has become something much more meaningful, a community of kind, creative people who inspire me everyday.

Maggie Valley Yarn Shop represents more than hand-dyed yarn, fiber supplies and project bags; it represents the fulfillment of a lifelong goal, a leap of faith, and the joy of finding purpose through creativity and connection. Thank you for supporting my small business and for being part of this wonderful community. I am truly grateful we get to share this journey together.
